Bathurst Community Concert Band put on 2 Kids & Family Concerts (one in English followed by one in French) called "What's That Sound? / Quel est ce son?"

LOTS of smiling faces at this concert for kids!  Over 250 people attended between the English and French presentations. Great participation from students throughout the show provided an awesome experience as an introduction to concert band and its many instruments and sounds.

May 23-25, 2023 @ Halifax Band Fest

Fredericton Second Chances Bands, Fredericton Concert and Marching Band, UNB Concert Band, Fredericton Symphony Orchestra, STU Jazz, Backyard Brass, and The Thomists - were all represented at Halifax BandFest 2023, pictured here along with our Second Chances conductor, Jenn Keating, BandFest Leader, Chris Ward, and Guest Conductors, Sarah MacDonald, Dr. Jacquie Dawson, and Dr. Jessica Kun.

Both community bands in Bathurst have been fortunate enough to find an alternate rehearsal space and continue rehearsing during COVID under a detailed operational plan, physical distancing, and preventative mitigations.  Please enjoy these 2 Christmas videos from Phantom Jazz Band and Bathurst Community Concert Band.  Subscribe to their Youtube channels to view more and be notified of new content added.      Phantom Jazz Channel             BCCB Channel

NBBA Regional Rep. for Miramichi, Chris Guindon is also the owner/operator of Mighty River Music Services.  Whether it's collaborating with other musicians for a benefit concert or spreading some musical holiday cheer busking in the cold, Chris is definitely passionate about music and looks to help rejuvenate the band community within the Miramichi area.

Congratulations to Jenn Keating on winning the logo design contest held in August, 2020!

Amidst the shut down of schools and many other activities due to COVID-19, NBBA held an event called "I Love Band" Video Contest.  We were very thankful to those who submitted videos for our prize draw.  Below are the results of the draw and all the excellent videos that were submitted.  We hope to have similar contests in the future with even more people involved.
