Choral Fest is an opportunity for those new to group singing, or those who have been doing it a while, but would like to brush up on their skills.  This fun choral weekend will focus on a variety of vocal/choral topics, skills, genres and rehearsals.  It will conclude with a public performance so that participants can use the skills they have learned and share in the joy of singing with others!  The only requirement to be a part of this is to have a love of singing and a desire to learn more.  No choral experience is necessary!

Rosalind Kennedy-Townsend has experience as performer and music instructor that spans four-plus decades.  Based in Bathurst, New Brunswick, she is a vocalist, musician, retired music specialist and principal, and dedicated vocal coach. A native of Newfoundland, she grew up with a rich, musical heritage – beginning her musical studies and solo career at a very young age.  Rosalind continued formal voice training at Memorial University of Newfoundland where she was also a member of the university’s Concert and Baroque choirs, as well as its Jazz Ensemble.
Rosalind has extensive choral conducting experience.  She has directed youth choirs, community choirs, church choirs, combined school district choirs, and her own elementary and senior high school choirs.  Many of these have earned local and provincial recognition for their tremendous performances and benevolent commitment.
Rosalind has always believed that music is for everyone, and her ultimate goal has been to ensure that music is accessible to all, despite one’s experience or training.  She is well-known in the Chaleur region for creating, organizing, producing and directing numerous choral concerts and large-scale stage productions in support of local charities.  Rosalind received the Rotary Club International’s covetous Paul Harris Fellowship Award in 2017 for her ongoing commitment to her community.
Rosalind’s most recent milestone, achieved in 2025, is the completion of five years of intensive vocal study, culminating in an ARCT in Vocal Performance with First Class Honours. As the Royal Conservatory of Music’s highest distinction, the ARCT (Associate of Royal Conservatory) highlights her enduring dedication to advanced musical development and lifelong learning.

Amanda Godin is a performer, conductor and musician from Bathurst. She recently graduated from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with minors in Drama and History, as well as a certificate in Community Engaged Learning. During her time at Mount Allison she participated in various choirs, worked off and onstage for many musical productions, and music directed as well as conducted the Sondheim musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the Motyer-Fancy Theatre. Since moving back to Bathurst, she has continued working on her studies as she is simultaneously working on her Bachelor of Education from Crandall University and her Master’s of Music in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Currently, Amanda works as a teacher at Superior Middle School where she also leads the choir. Amanda’s vibrant passion for music is clear when working with students, and she is very excited to be part of this year's Bathurst Choral Fest!
