The New Brunswick Band Association is a provincial organization representing and supporting community and school bands, band directors, students, parents, administrators, the music industry, composers, arrangers and all those interested in bands across New Brunswick and beyond. Our mission is to promote and develop the musical, educational, and cultural values of band and band music in New Brunswick through a variety of mediums.
Why become a member of the New Brunswick band association?
- Because you are a band director/teacher, band student, band musician, or band supporter.
- Members of NBBA are also members of CBA – the Canadian Band Association
- The CBA provides liability insurance for NBBA members.
- You will have access to the Canadian Band Association Directory; connecting you with colleagues across the country for exchanges or simply finding where your friends are living.
- You will receive Canadian Winds (twice a year), a professional national publication from CBA. It contains interesting articles, music reviews, stories, and inspiration! These articles are written by CBA members from across the country offer great insight into all aspects of banding.
- Members are able to attend the new Jazz BandBlast, Concert Band Workshop & Reading Session BandBlast, as well as the Spring Band Blast Finale including a public concert.
- NBBA members will receive quarterly e-newsletters from the NBBA about helpful resources, advertising for upcoming events, spotlight segments on NB bands, and much more!
- Students may be eligible for a scholarship from NBBA to offset some of the costs of attending the National Youth Band, summer music camps, private music instruction, or musical study at a post-secondary institution.
- Participation in one or more of the events below automatically makes you an active member of the NBBA from August 1 to July 31. The more events you attend, the greater discount you receive! You may certainly choose to pay for any membership level in full to support the NBBA without participating in events.
