JEFF MACQUARRIE
Conductor - Illuminate Jazz Band Host + Clinician 
Jeff is the head of the Bathurst High School Music Dept. where he continues to teach music classes in addition to directing extracurricular band, choirs, drama, and musicals over the last 25 years. He holds degrees in music performance and education from St. FX. University. Jeff is the founder and conductor of the Phantom Jazz Band and Ottoni (Brass Ensemble) in addition to being assistant conductor of the Bathurst Community Concert Band (BCCB). As a trumpeter, Jeff has performed extensively as a soloist and within ensembles at the local, provincial, and national levels. He currently performs with BCCB, Ottoni, Phantom Jazz, and as a soloist. President of the NB Band Association, Jeff is a strong advocate for music education at all levels and continues to provide opportunities for people to discover their music. He is very much looking forward to Bathurst Band Fest and reconnecting with returning "Band Festees" as well as new friends.

ALISTAIR TULLOCH
Conductor - Spark Concert Band Host + Clinician 
Alistair is a retired music teacher from Bathurst, NB. Alistair has extensive education, conducting, and playing experience: a middle school teacher for 25 years; the director and conductor of the Bathurst Community Concert Band for over 25 years; assistant director and member of the Phantom Jazz Band in Bathurst; trombone player in the Ottoni Brass Ensemble; past clinician for winds of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra; winner of the NBYO Lieutenant Governor Award for community music development; the Vice Present of the NB Band Association; and the Co-Vice President of the Chaleur Music Festival. Alistair has a passion for teaching beginners to play band instruments. He also composes and arranges music for his ensembles. Alistair is proud to continue the tradition of Bathurst Band Fest where he will be directing and hosting. He is excited to see former participants and meet new attendees!

BRADLEY HACHEY - Conductor - Ignite Concert Band + Clinician

Brad is a music teacher and active musician in the Fredericton community. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Mount Allison University and a Bachelor of Education from Saint Thomas University. Since moving to Fredericton in 2015, Brad has immersed himself in the vibrant music community within the city. Some credits include: director of Second Chances Beginner Band (2017-present,) and collaborative pianist for the Fredericton Kiwanis Youth Choir (2022-present). Brad currently teaches music at Oromocto High School where he also directs the school concert band. Brad is thrilled to be returning to Bathurst Band Fest for 2025 as the conductor of the Level 1 Concert Band.

JENNIFER KEATING - Conductor - Ignite Jazz Band
|
Jennifer is a music educator, performer, and conductor based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Mount Allison University, a Bachelor of Music Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies from the University of New Brunswick. She serves as the Creative Arts Lead for Anglophone West, supporting music teachers and programs across the region.
An accomplished trombonist and conductor, Jennifer performs with STU Jazz, Maritime Winds, the Fredericton Concert Marching Band, and Backyard Brass. She spent most of her teaching career at Leo Hayes High School, directing concert band, jazz band, and large-scale music productions. Jennifer is the co-founder and director of the Second Chances Fredericton Community Band and serves as Co-President of the New Brunswick Music Educators Association. A passionate advocate for music education, she develops professional learning for K–12 educators and champions inclusive, lifelong music-making through leadership, festivals, and community arts initiatives across New Brunswick. |

MEG FERGUSON - Conductor - Illuminate Concert Band
|
Meg's passion for community band music began in Grade 8 when she joined the Fredericton Concert and Marching Band, an experience that inspired a lifelong commitment to music-making. A graduate of Acadia University with a Master of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University, she has spent more than 30 years teaching music to students in Grades 5–12 and currently teaches at Georges P. Vanier Junior High School in Fall River, Nova Scotia.
Throughout her career, Meg has directed concert bands, jazz bands, percussion ensembles, drumlines, and choirs while serving in leadership roles with the Nova Scotia Band Association, Nova Scotia Music Educators’ Association, and Nova Scotia Teachers Union. She has co-founded music festivals and student recognition programs, led adult beginner band initiatives, adjudicated festivals, facilitated workshops, and continues to advocate for music education through mentoring, resource sharing, and social media. Her goal is simple: to inspire lifelong music-makers through creativity, collaboration, and a love of music. |
